Five Great Places for Whiskey Cocktails
I enjoy a good Whiskey cocktail every now and then. Actually, I enjoy it a lot! So, I’ve had my taste of drinks, mainly in the northern area of the island of Puerto Rico. I like my straight Jack Daniel’s, but I sometimes try classic and signature drinks. So, here are the five best places to have whiskey drinks in the area.
- The Office – Previously located in Trujillo Alto, they are now situated in the town center of Toa Alta. The same spectacular variety and liquor wisdom, along with great conversation, create a cozy gathering experience and an old-world vibe.
- W – Whiskey Bar – In the town of Arecibo, W is a hole in the wall, however, surprisingly distinguished and delightful inside. The whole set-up is quaint and comfortable. The bar is beautiful, their signature drinks are so good, you’ll have trouble choosing, and they are served beautifully. With over 200 whiskeys to choose from you’ll work up an appetite. The food here is delicious, with varied flavor fusions, and Asian recipes, all beautifully plated.
- Cubakí -This adorable restaurant in the town of Vega Baja, is a small gem of a place. The food is very good, the service makes you feel welcome, and their whiskey drinks are very well mixed. A couple of them serve as a dessert and are gorgeously served.
- Vittata Gastropub – In the Aguadilla beachfront area in town, this restaurant serves fresh catch of the day, food made with local ingredients, great coffee, decadent desserts, and the most creative drinks on the beach. Their version of an old-fashioned is my favorite: El Mañanero, it has a small waffle touching the drink that you should save for last. The flavor will leave you in a trance, it’s so good!
- Casita Isabela – This place is a lot of things, all good. It’s a restaurant, cultural space, gallery, social network, and of course, good whiskey. Casita Isabela is right by the town square in Isabela, PR, an architectural gem that has been converted into this eclectic place. Don’t expect a large whiskey selection, what they do have is a mean old-fashioned. Worth the visit!!
